Punjab Approves 8 Road Projects Worth Nearly Rs. 1 Billion

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has greenlit eight road improvement projects in Sargodha district, totalling nearly Rs. 1 billion in investment. The schemes, outlined in a press release from the Deputy Commissioner's Office, cover construction, rehabilitation and enhancement of key roadways throughout the region.

The Rs. 175.79 million Dairy Road, Azad Road, New Urdu Bazaar Road, Grain Market Road, Pilot School Road and Ara Market Road projects collectively aim to bolster local transport infrastructure. Rehabilitation of the Khayam Chowk Overhead Bridge, valued at Rs. 88.981 million, and the Johar Colony Road to Fatima Jinnah Road extension, costing Rs. 228.674 million, are also part of the plan.

Other initiatives include the Shama Chowk to Stadium Gate road rehabilitation and link road to Cheema Heart Centre for Rs. 164.645 million. Main Bazaar Bhagtanwala Road and the Lahore Road-Bhirowal-Kot Momin Link Road, estimated at Rs. 127.715 million, are further additions to the program.

Additionally, a Rs. 98.888 million Jail Road to Shahpur Saddar Road project and Rs. 56.684 million Farooka Road to Sial Dhulaka Road improvement are targeted for funding. A beautification project for Sial Mor Road interchanges, valued at Rs. 60 million, concludes the portfolio of eight approved road developments.

Deputy Commissioner Sargodha, Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry, expressed confidence that these projects will significantly improve Sargodha's road network, traffic flow and transportation services for residents across urban and rural areas.
