Private or Govt Schools: Who Dominated Lahore Board’s 9th Class Results?

Private schools outperformed government schools in the BISE Lahore 9th Class Results for the year 2026, with a notable difference in pass percentages. A study of the official gazette revealed that 70.92% of private school candidates passed, compared to 39.98% from government institutions. This marked a 30.94 percentage point gap in favor of private schools. Despite having fewer students, 21,894 less than their government counterparts, private schools still produced more successful candidates.

The analysis focused on regular candidates of both private and government affiliated institutions, excluding those who submitted their admission forms privately. Among private schools, female students demonstrated exceptional performance, with a 77.92% pass rate, significantly higher than their male peers at 62.99%. Similarly, government school girls achieved a pass rate of 48.13%, while boys had a lower rate of 28.86%.

The gender gap was wider in government institutions (19.27 percentage points) than in private institutions (14.93 percentage points).

Across various educational groups, private schools maintained their lead. In the Science group, private schools recorded a pass rate of 73.16%, compared to 47.79% in government institutions, a 25.37 percentage point difference. The Arts group saw private schools at 38.29% and government schools at 25.07%, a 13.22 percentage point gap.

In the Technical group, private schools led with 71.96% pass rate, while government schools had 40.85%, a 31.11 percentage point gap. Overall, private schools achieved a 53.57% pass rate, while government schools recorded a 46.51% pass rate, indicating a 7.06 percentage point advantage.
