PM Narendra Modi calls for robust water data governance

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the concluding session of the National Departmental Summit on Water on Wednesday, advocating for robust water data governance and the application of artificial intelligence in data collection and analysis. During the summit, chaired by the Prime Minister, the emphasis was placed on proactive and unified planning to tackle water scarcity by optimizing the use of treated water for agriculture and industrial sectors.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of unified water-sector data, advocating for systematic management, analysis, and effective utilization. He suggested harnessing the power of AI for data collection and analysis, proposing a standardized format for seamless integration. Additionally, the Prime Minister urged for a wider adoption of water-saving technologies, and proposed setting up dedicated exhibitions and workshops, including exposure to global best practices, to help Indian manufacturers and stakeholders develop and scale efficient solutions.
