PM Modi gifts Javokhir Sindarov’s World Cup scoresheet to Uzbek president

During Prime Minister Narendra Modi's diplomatic visit to Uzbekistan, he gifted the original handwritten scoresheet of Uzbek chess grandmaster Javokhir Sindarov from the 2025 FIDE World Cup final to Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The scoresheet, presented in a leatherette cover featuring a photograph of Sindarov and the Uzbek flag, symbolizes the strengthening of ties between the two nations through the ancient game of chess.

Sindarov won the World Cup in Goa last year, securing a spot in the Candidates tournament and ultimately winning it to face India's D Gukesh in the World Championship.
