Pauline Njoroge: George Natembeya reminds me of John the Baptist

Digital strategist Pauline Njoroge has likened Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya to John the Baptist of contemporary times, noting that he has played a crucial role in paving the way for Edwin Sifuna's presidential bid. In a post commemorating Natembeya's birthday on September 2, 2026, Njoroge drew a parallel between the governor and John the Baptist from the Bible, who was known for preparing the way for Jesus Christ.

Njoroge highlighted Natembeya's efforts in "preparing the ground" in Western Kenya, emphasizing his readiness to put aside his own ambitions and support Sifuna's campaign, believing that the nation's greater good was more important than personal gain. The digital strategist expressed her wishes for Natembeya's continued selflessness, sacrifice, and service, hoping that history would recognize and reward these qualities.

Her sentiments echo the recent shift in Natembeya's political allegiance, as he broke ties with the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) to align with Sifuna's Linda Mwananchi movement. Following his decision to back Sifuna, Natembeya pledged to mobilize support across Western Kenya for the Nairobi senator's presidential campaign in 2027.

However, his decision has not been without challenges, as rival candidates within the movement, such as Siaya Governor James Orengo, have also sought to position themselves as the party's presidential candidate. Despite these complications, Natembeya remains adamant that Sifuna is the candidate he supports. Meanwhile, Njoroge, who previously served as the organizing secretary for the Jubilee Party and had considered running for Nairobi governor herself, has since joined the Linda Mwananchi movement.

In her current role, she has taken on the responsibility of handling communications for the rapidly growing political entity.
