Pakistani man gets 7-yr prison term in child rape case

A Pakistani man in his 40s was sentenced to seven years in prison for sexually assaulting two foreign children nearly two decades ago at an Islamic mosque in Incheon, South Korea. The Bucheon branch of the Incheon District Court found him guilty of rape charges involving minors under the age of 13. He is prohibited from working at institutions serving children, adolescents, and the disabled for a period of seven years.

Prosecutors allege that the man threatened and sexually assaulted the victims, aged seven and nine at the time, during Quran classes at the mosque in September 2008. The court deemed the victims' detailed and consistent testimonies as credible.
