One teen found dead as search continues for three others missing in Tanjung Balau

Kota Tinggi, September 2 - The body of one of four teenagers who were feared drowned at Tanjung Lompat Beach in Tanjung Balau has been recovered, according to the search and rescue team. The victim, Alif Taqiudin Kamal Hasrul Mohamad, was discovered approximately 800 meters from where he was last seen. Police chief Deputy Superintendent Mohd Syamsuri Mohamad confirmed the identification of the body by family members and its subsequent transportation to Kota Tinggi Hospital.

The ongoing search and rescue operation for the remaining three victims is reportedly challenging due to strong undersea currents, rough beach conditions, and high winds. Despite these difficulties, a massive coordination effort involving 30 personnel from various agencies including the police, Fire and Rescue Department, marine police, and Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) is currently underway. They are supported by the Tanjung Balau Fishermen's Association and local sailors.
