NSA raises alarm over fake letter demanding GH¢50 validation fee from national service personnel

The National Service Authority (NSA) has issued a stern warning to the public regarding a fraudulent letter circulating on social media, falsely demanding validation fees from national service personnel. The letter, addressed to "National Service Personnels," claims that individuals should pay up to GH¢50 for validation and an additional GH¢10 for district office management contributions.

However, the NSA emphatically states that neither the validation fee nor the district office contribution has been authorized by the authority. The fraudulent correspondence, which claims no separate funds will be provided for district offices and takes effect on November 2, bears no resemblance to official NSA communication. The NSA urges the public not to make any payments or disclose personal information based on the letter's contents, as the format, language, and purported signature do not align with the authority's official communications.

No official notice or directive has been issued via the NSA's official website or verified social media platforms, and the agency has not authorized any individual or third party to collect validation fees on its behalf. Prospective and current national service personnel are advised to verify all information related to registration, validation, payments, and other official activities through the NSA's recognized communication channels before taking any action.

The public is further urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious communications or fraudulent activities claiming to be from the NSA. The NSA firmly cautions against being deceived: "Do not be deceived. Verify before you trust, pay, or share."
