NPP Western North Chairman donates Voxy vans to constituencies to boost party finances

The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ghana's Western North Region, Pious Vincent Abakah, recently presented Toyota Voxy vans to various constituencies within the region. This initiative aims to generate income for the party's local structures in preparation for the 2028 general elections. The vehicles will be utilized commercially, with the generated revenue directed towards supporting constituency offices, logistics, party activities, and welfare programs for members.

During the handover ceremony, Abakah emphasized the importance of constituencies developing their own income-generating sources instead of relying solely on financial support from individuals and other party structures. He stressed that the revenue from the Voxy vans should be used to cover operational costs of constituency offices, aid party wings, and fund welfare initiatives for polling station executives and activists.

Abakah urged constituency executives to manage the vehicles as income-generating assets, ensuring proper systems for operation, maintenance, and financial reporting. He cautioned against using the vehicles in a manner that could compromise their commercial value and stressed the need for accountability in managing the proceeds.

In addition to the financial aspect, Abakah called for the resolution of internal disagreements among NPP members in the Western North Region through open dialogue as the party prepares for the upcoming elections. He encouraged constituency executives to reconnect with former executives, aggrieved members, and inactive supporters, urging them to broaden the party's inclusive rebuilding efforts by reaching out to those with whom they had disagreements.

The Regional Chairman also called for proper planning and budget preparation by constituency chairpersons and executives to identify priorities, estimate resources, and determine funding sources for party programs. He further encouraged constituency executives to engage various stakeholders, including opinion leaders, business owners, philanthropists, and potential sponsors, in transparent and accountable engagements to support local party activities.

Abakah emphasized the importance of maintaining and managing the Voxy vans to continue generating revenue for the beneficiary constituencies. He highlighted the initiative as a means to provide an additional income stream for the regions.
