New Additions Tacko Fall And Dean Wade Speak On Joining The 76ers

Tacko Fall, a towering seven-foot-six-inch forward, has signed with the Philadelphia 76ers for an Exhibit-10 deal, marking his return to the NBA after a four-year hiatus. The 76ers, eager to welcome Fall back, announced the news amid much fanfare. Fall expressed his excitement about the opportunity, stating, "It is an opportunity of a lifetime that I shall not waste.

I am really looking forward to playing alongside Jaylen Brown and doing whatever it takes to help the team." Fall's last NBA stint was with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2022, where he made brief appearances off the bench, averaging 2.1 rebounds, 1.1 points, and 0.5 blocks per game while shooting 41.7% from the field.

Before his return to the NBA, Fall played professionally abroad. He spent time in Australia’s NBL with the New Zealand Breakers, China’s Jiangsu Flying Tigers and Nanjing Monkey Kings, and the Chinese Basketball Association’s Ningbo Rockets. Fall's size has always been an asset, with the most recent season seeing him average 11.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game. He also found a new career path by training to become a firefighter in Chicago, aiming to give back to the community before returning to basketball.

Alongside Fall, the 76ers have also signed two other players: Jameer Nelson Jr. and Saint Thomas, both eligible for two-way deals. They currently have one roster spot available for a player on a standard contract. Prior to these signings, the 76ers bolstered their frontcourt by acquiring Dean Wade from the Cleveland Cavaliers on a four-year, $38.7 million contract.

Wade spoke highly of joining the 76ers, saying, "Trying to be as unbiased as I can, when I look at this team, it's hard to ignore the talent. This is by far the best team I've ever been on, and that's not to talk down about any other team I've been a part of." Wade expressed confidence in the team's potential to make a championship run, stating, "We had some really great teams in Cleveland with some very talented players, but this team in Philadelphia now is a step above."

Wade's final season with the Cavaliers ended with an impressive 5.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists over 77 games, including the Eastern Conference Finals run. Both Fall and Wade seem eager and motivated to make an impact in the upcoming 2026-27 season, with the 76ers' prospects of competing for a championship looking brighter than ever.
