Neues SUV im Test: CX-6e: Mazda probt den elektrischen Ernstfall

Mazda has finally embraced electric mobility with the introduction of the CX-6e, a new electric SUV that aims to compete with established models like the VW ID.4 and Renault Scénic. Priced starting at 49,990 euros, the CX-6e sits in the same price range as the similarly sized diesel or plug-in hybrid CX-6. However, this Japanese-developed vehicle, co-produced with Chinese manufacturer Changan in China, brings several improvements over its predecessor.

The CX-6e features a more spacious and conventional SUV design compared to the previous generation, with an increased seating capacity and a more spacious trunk. Most notably, Mazda has upgraded the electrical components, including the battery capacity, which now stands at 78 kWh, providing a range of up to 484 kilometers. Charging time has also been reduced, taking only 24 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent.

The 190 kW/258 PS rear-wheel-drive electric motor propels the CX-6e from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds, maintaining the brand's signature driving experience. Despite its SUV size, the vehicle offers a sporty driving feel, with a stiffer suspension and more engaging steering. The stylish cockpit features a large infotainment display, with a 27-inch screen and 5K resolution, providing both information for drivers and entertainment for passengers.

Some features, such as the classic instruments and physical controls, have been omitted in favor of a more digital and connected experience. The CX-6e also offers additional conveniences like digital side mirrors and screens in the door panels. While it may lack the sportiness of some competitors, the CX-6e provides a more engaging and well-rounded driving experience for those in the middle-class segment.
