Mark to drop 1st solo project after leaving NCT

Seoul, September 2 - Mark, the renowned rapper and singer formerly of K-pop group NCT, is set to debut his first solo single following his exit from the band, according to his new agency Upper Room. The track, titled "My Friend," is slated for release on September 10 at 1 p.m. KST, marking his debut as a solo artist after a 17-month hiatus.

This appearance follows his departure from both NCT 127 and NCT Dream in April. Mark joined the supergroup NCT in 2016 under SM Entertainment's rotational system and quickly gained prominence within the act through his involvement in multiple subunits. Deciding not to renew his exclusive contract with SM, Mark founded Upper Room, a solo agency he describes as a "creative company" built with trusted collaborators from his time with NCT. He currently holds the position of co-chief executive officer at Upper Room.
