Lhuan-dre Pretorius: If I was worried about my milestones, I should rather play tennis or golf

Lhuan-dre Pretorius, a young cricketer known for his aggressive batting style, was understandably disappointed after falling one run short of his first T20I century during a match against Zimbabwe at the Namibia Cricket Ground. The Proteas were set to reach 200 runs but ultimately ended at 185/7. Pretorius acknowledged the rarity of T20 international hundreds, stating, "T20 hundreds are very rare. International T20 hundreds are even more rare. But I wasn't too fussed about it. I believe milestones will come and go."

He explained that his teammates played a significant role in the result, as the team faltered after reaching 154/1 with just five overs left. Pretorius faced only 12 deliveries in the critical period, which affected the Proteas' momentum and contributed to the batting collapse. He highlighted the wind conditions, saying, "They bowled well to the long boundary. And they maximised using the wind. They got the ball very soft, so it was hard to get away."

Despite the disappointment, Pretorius remains optimistic about his future performances, stating, "I wouldn't say so." He emphasized that in T20 cricket, a single batter can change the game, and it's crucial to capitalize on opportunities. He added, "Hopefully, in the next game, it's someone else's day." Pretorius will have another chance to reach three figures when the Proteas face Namibia in their final group match on Friday.
