Kaduna backs tax reforms to boost revenue mobilisation

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has pledged his support for the Office of the Tax Ombud to align the state's tax administration with national reforms, aiming to boost revenue mobilisation and investor confidence. Meeting with Tax Ombud Chief Executive, Dr. John Nwabueze, the governor emphasized the importance of collaboration among federal and state institutions to build a strong, sustainable tax system.

Dr. Nwabueze assured the governor of the Office of the Tax Ombud's commitment to resolving taxpayer grievances and fostering trust in the system through education and transparency. The Office of the Tax Ombud complements state efforts to improve fiscal positions through increased tax compliance, providing an independent mechanism for addressing taxpayer concerns.

Dr. Nwabueze highlighted Kaduna State's crucial role in the successful implementation of tax reforms, urging the governor to support taxpayer education, voluntary compliance, and constructive engagement among all stakeholders to create a more predictable tax environment and strengthen Kaduna's economy.
