Each recipient received N100,000 during a scholarship presentation ceremony held in Eleme Local Government Area. Dr Josiah Olu, the founder and former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly for Eleme Constituency, established the annual scholarship scheme to support financially disadvantaged but academically talented students pursuing tertiary education.
Olu's motivation stemmed from his own financial struggles while completing his education. He selected the 200 beneficiaries from over 500 applications through a transparent process.
The foundation plans to increase the number of beneficiaries to 300 next year and extend the scholarship to students in senior and junior secondary schools in Eleme. Over the years, the foundation has assisted thousands of students from Eleme and other ethnic nationalities through various educational interventions. Olu urged the beneficiaries to make the most of this opportunity by focusing on their studies, achieving academic excellence, and positively contributing to society.

Eleme's Member of the House of Representatives, Felix Nweke, praised the beneficiaries and pledged to collaborate with the foundation to expand its scholarship program in Eleme.
Felix Ogbuji, the foundation's Senior Programme Manager, assured the public that the selection process was transparent and non-Eleme indigenes were also included in the programme.
