HUMAIN Horizon Ultra AI PC unveiled with Snapdragon X2 Elite and on-device AI

Qualcomm and HUMAIN introduced a new AI PC called Horizon Ultra at LEAP 2026, designed to process more AI tasks directly on the device rather than relying on online servers. This partnership took over a year to develop, with the first version running Microsoft Windows for user familiarity. HUMAIN also plans to release its own operating system, HUMAIN OS, on this hardware in 2027.

The laptop is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 Elite chip, featuring an 18-core Oryon CPU, an Adreno GPU, and a Hexagon NPU. These components work together to handle various workloads, allowing AI models to run locally on the device and keep sensitive data secure on the machine. If additional processing power is needed, the device can still connect to the cloud.

HUMAIN CEO Tareq Amin emphasized the goal of making intelligence native to the device rather than merely connecting to it. The Horizon Ultra running Windows will be available to enterprise customers starting September 20, 2026, with AlFalak handling sales and delivery. The HUMAIN OS version will follow in 2027. Horizon Ultra is part of HUMAIN’s broader AI strategy, which includes data centers, cloud infrastructure, models, and apps.

By integrating dedicated AI hardware into a laptop, HUMAIN aims to bring the same AI capabilities to personal devices. Meanwhile, Anthropic unveiled upgraded AI models for Claude, designed to improve coding efficiency, complex task performance, and reduce costs for developers. Anthropic launched Claude Fable 5.1 for general use and Claude Mythos 5.1 for trusted organizations in sectors like cybersecurity and life sciences.

They also reduced Fable cache read pricing by 75%, while maintaining standard API pricing for regular usage. Google also entered the AI design scene with Google Pics, an AI-powered tool that allows users to create professional-looking visuals such as posters, flyers, presentations, and social media graphics through simple prompts.

Powered by Gemini and Google's Nano Banana image generator, Pics integrates into Google Workspace, making high-quality visuals accessible to those without extensive design experience.
