Historic rugby quadruple-header set for Sydney, capped by Wallabies against All Blacks

Sydney (AP) — The Wallabies and the New Zealand All Blacks will face off in a historic Bledisloe Cup test on October 17, concluding a rugby quadruple-header in Sydney. The event will commence with Australia's women's XV contesting against Scotland, followed by the men's and women's sevens teams each facing off against two-time Olympic champions.

Rugby Australia chief executive Phil Waugh expressed that this marks an historic moment for Australian rugby, as all four of their teams will compete in gold on the same day. The quadruple-header lineup begins with the Wallaroos kicking off their WXV Global Series campaign against Scotland. The men's sevens team will then take on Fiji, Olympic medalists from Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo.

Lastly, Australia's world champion women's sevens squad will take on the two-time defending Olympic champion New Zealand. The Wallabies enter the second test against Argentina this weekend with a four-game winning streak. The All Blacks are currently tied 1-1 in a four-test "greatest rivalry" series against the Springboks in South Africa.
