Google stops selling ‘Certified Refurbished’ Pixel 7 series, still no Pixel 9 yet

Google has stopped selling "Certified Refurbished" Pixel 7 series devices on its store, while Pixel 9 has yet to be released. The "Certified Refurbished" Pixel smartphones are typically sold at a lower price, often hundreds less than the original retail price. These devices come with a one-year warranty, undergo a full inspection with replacement parts, and are sold unlocked for use with any carrier.

They are also available on Amazon. Currently, Google only offers the Pixel 8 series – 8, Pro, and 8a, alongside the Pixel 7a, with prices ranging from $289 to $649. The Pixel 7 series was removed from the store in recent days, its last appearance on the Wayback Machine found late in August. Google had been running a promotion offering a free Pixel Watch 2 with refurbished Pixel 7 devices from July until recently.

This development is not unexpected, as the Pixel 7 series launched in 2022 and will discontinue receiving updates by the second half of 2027. However, the absence of the Pixel 9 series in Google's refurbished program is surprising. With Pixel 11 now available, it seems probable that the Pixel 9 will join the refurbished lineup in the coming weeks. The Pixel 8 was introduced in October 2025, about two months after the Pixel 10's debut.
