Four people charged with murder after death of newborn baby girl

Two men and two women have been charged with murder after a baby girl was discovered stabbed to death at a residence in Sheffield. The infant's body was found at the property on Holywell Heights in the Wincobank area on Sunday morning, following reports of concern for her wellbeing. South Yorkshire Police announced that two men, aged 19 and 38, along with two women, aged 20 and 37, have been charged with murder, causing or allowing a child's death, and obstructing justice by attempting to hide the infant's killing.

A fifth individual, a 15-year-old girl, has also been charged with obstructing justice. All five have been held in custody and are scheduled to appear at Sheffield Magistrates' Court. The five charged individuals are Peter Horvath, aged 19, from Holywell Heights, Andrea Skopova, aged 20, formerly of Robey Street, Nina Horvathova, aged 37, from Holywell Heights, and Peter Horvath, aged 38, also from Holywell Heights.

Two additional women, aged 26 and 37, who were initially detained on suspicion of murder are currently on bail. Detective Chief Inspector Tom Woodward stated, "This marks a significant development in our investigation into the tragic death of this baby girl. I would like to express gratitude to our communities for their support as we navigate this complex inquiry."

Police emphasized the importance of refraining from speculation and disseminating information online about the case while the legal proceedings progress. They also highlighted the necessity of maintaining the integrity of the criminal justice process to ensure justice for the infant. Officers are expected to continue conducting investigations in and around the Holywell Heights area.
