FedEx Freight fires chief commercial officer following internal probe

FedEx Freight has terminated Mike Lyons, its chief commercial officer and specialized services leader, following an internal investigation, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Lyons was appointed to the role in June 2025, one year before FedEx Freight spun off from FedEx Corp. The company stated that Lyons violated their Code of Conduct and no longer met the standards of employment.

The allegations against him do not relate to the company's financial reporting, performance, internal controls, strategy, or customer relationships. Lyons' responsibilities will be reassigned to other executives while FedEx Freight searches for a replacement. Lyons had worked for the company for 19 years and led commercial strategy, customer experience, and FedEx Custom Critical.

FedEx Freight will not provide additional information beyond what is included in its 8-K filing, the company spokesperson said.
