Exeter boss like 'proud parent' after Barnet draw

Exeter City's manager Matt Taylor expressed immense pride in his team following a 1-1 draw against League Two promotion contenders Barnet. The match took place at St James Park, where Exeter initially fell behind midway through the second half due to Idris Kanu's goal for Barnet. However, Reece Cole equalized just seven minutes later, resulting in a 1-1 draw.

This victory means Exeter, who were relegated from League One the previous season, remain unbeaten at home. Taylor described his players' resilience as "physical bottle" and commended them for their performance against a strong Barnet side. Despite Barnet's early lead and several scoring opportunities that were disallowed for offside, Exeter displayed excellent character by coming back into the game and holding on to the draw.

Taylor also mentioned that his team had created enough chances in the first half to be ahead, making Barnet's pressure seem substantial but ultimately manageable. Exeter City will next face third-placed Walsall at St James Park on Saturday.
