Ex-Delta APC Treasurer hospitalised after brutal attack by suspected political thugs

Chief Edewor Akpedafe, the former Treasurer of the All Progressives Congress and Secretary-General of Uwheru Kingdom, is currently hospitalized after allegedly being brutally assaulted in Ughelli, Delta State. The attack took place at a meeting in Ughelli, where Akpedafe was present to represent Uwheru Kingdom in resolving a land dispute between Evwreni Kingdom and Uwheru Kingdom over the ownership of an oil facility.

The assault reportedly occurred at the residence of Olorogun Miller Uloho, Chairman of the Ughelli North LGA Advisory Committee. According to a witness, about 50 individuals arrived at the meeting venue in three Sienna buses, accompanied by two mobile policemen attached to the LGA Chairman. Akpedafe, representing Uwheru Kingdom, was beaten severely during the meeting and dragged into one of the Sienna buses, where the assault continued.

The incident is believed to have occurred during a meeting intended to find a peaceful resolution to the land dispute. As of the latest update, Akpedafe's condition has worsened, and he is receiving treatment at the Central Hospital in Ughelli for injuries sustained on his head and other parts of his body. The identities and motives of those involved in the alleged attack remain unverified as of press time.
