Ensure DJ-Free, Safe & Eco-Friendly Ganeshotsav: Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar District Collector Vinay Gowda

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar District Collector Vinay Gowda has emphasized making this year's Ganeshotsav free from DJs, ensuring safety, and promoting eco-friendliness. He stressed the importance of coordination among all stakeholders, including the district administration, police, local bodies, Ganesh mandals, and citizens.

The state government has held competitions for the best Ganesh mandals, with awards for taluka and district levels. Gowda urged Ganesh mandals to participate in these competitions. A coordination meeting with all government departments was held at the District Collector's office on Tuesday.

Gowda advised public Ganesh Utsav mandals to use traditional musical instruments instead of DJs to reduce noise pollution and maintain the festival's sanctity. He assured the administration would communicate with the mandals and provide necessary guidance. The first-place Ganesh mandal at the taluka level will receive ₹25,000, while at the district level, the prizes will be ₹50,000, ₹40,000, and ₹30,000 for first, second, and third places, respectively.

Gowda directed the formation of committees at the taluka level to coordinate and hold meetings with public Ganeshotsav mandals. He instructed these committees to work with the police administration to provide guidance on security, traffic, parking, and immersion arrangements. Police Superintendent Prakash Jadhav issued instructions regarding arrangements at key immersion sites, particularly in the Kaygaon-Toka area of Gangapur taluka, considering the large crowds of devotees.
