Education Ministry postpones placement results to September 4

The Ministry of Education in Ghana has delayed the release of the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) results for the 2026/2027 academic year to September 4, 2026. The initial release date of August 31, 2026, was pushed back due to the need for additional time to finalize the submission and uploading of students' data onto the WAEC and CSSPS platforms.

This decision was communicated in a statement by Hashmin Mohammed, the Press Secretary to the Minister of Education. The extension was requested by parents, guardians, students, and school heads who required more time to complete the necessary processes. The Ministry stated that this extension would enable all qualified students to have their information captured for placement into Senior High Schools (SHS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.

The data showed that approximately 20,000 qualified students had not yet had their school choices uploaded onto the CSSPS platform by their respective authorities. The Ministry emphasized the need for this extended period to ensure that students with outstanding information are not excluded from the placement process. They urged all stakeholders to utilize this additional time to submit and upload any remaining details by the specified deadline.

The Ministry reiterated its dedication to maintaining a fair, transparent, efficient, and orderly placement procedure that offers every qualified student an equitable chance to secure placement in an SHS or TVET institution.
