Eagles hope changes on offense lead to another run to the Super Bowl

The Philadelphia Eagles are hoping a revamped offense will help propel them to another Super Bowl run. Saquon Barkley's record-breaking season last year was paired with a rush-heavy offense that led the team to its second Super Bowl victory in franchise history. However, that rushing assault went flat last season, and quarterback Jalen Hurts and wide receivers DeVonta Smith and A.J.

Brown failed to produce enough explosive plays to keep the Eagles competitive. As a result, the team underwent significant offensive changes, including trading Brown to New England, firing offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, and parting ways with longtime offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland. Coach Nick Sirianni has expressed a desire for more explosive plays from the new offense, though Sean Mannion's scheme remains largely unknown after three vanilla preseason games without the regular starters.

With star power across the roster, the Eagles are expected to contend for their third Super Bowl. Quarterback Hurts has the dual threat capability, and wide receiver A.J. Brown is expected to take on a larger role, though he will be without the services of Marquise Brown. The Eagles' defense remains strong, with the offensive line anchored by Pro Bowl tackle Lane Johnson.

However, there are concerns at safety after the departure of Reed Blankenship, and the backup quarterback position is uncertain after both Tanner McKee and Andy Dalton struggled in three preseason games. Wide receiver Makai Lemon, who missed most of training camp with a hamstring injury, may become the team's No. 1 receiver if he returns healthy for the season.
