‘Dummy captain’: Former Pakistan skipper roasts Babar Azam after Test squad reshuffle

Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif criticised current Test captain Babar Azam for failing to exhibit leadership following a major mid-series squad reshuffle in England. Pakistan suffered a heavy 194-run defeat to England in the second Test at Lord's, leading to the recall of seven players and the removal of head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul.

Latif labelled Babar as a "dummy captain" for not standing up for his team during the crisis. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recalled Mohammad Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq, Salman Ali Agha, Ali Usman, Aamer Jamal, Awais Zafar, and Khurram Shahzad, as well as coaches Ahmed and Gul. Babar, who assumed the captaincy last month, missed the first Test due to injury and scored eight and six in the second.

Pakistan's batting woes have deepened, with four successive failures in the two Tests, and they have not scored 200 in any innings this series.
