Detroit Lions Waive 2 Players in Latest Roster Shuffle

The Detroit Lions have made further adjustments to their roster, waiving center Seth McLaughlin and running back Jabari Small on Wednesday. This move opens up two spots on the active roster. McLaughlin was initially included to provide depth at center, while Small was one of the bigger surprises after Detroit started with five running backs.

The timing of these moves coincided with the cutdown day, as both players were dealing with injuries that required them to be on the initial roster. McLaughlin had a concussion, while Small was listed with an injury when the regular season began. Following the latest roster shuffle, Jahmyr Gibbs, Jacob Saylors, and Sione Vaki will be the running backs on the active roster, with Isiah Pacheco remaining on injured reserve.

The Lions still have two open roster spots, and it appears that head coach Brad Holmes has more work ahead.
