Denkyirahene hosts sixth Akwasidae, calls for unity, peace

The Denkyirahene, Odeefo Boa Amponsem IV, convened the sixth Akwasidae celebration at the Denkyira Traditional Council, gathering traditional leaders, government officials, community members and other stakeholders to honor Denkyira's history and cultural values. The festival featured traditional rites, drumming, and dancing, as well as a reflection on the area's progress and challenges.

The Denkyirahene emphasized the importance of unity among the people for peace, development, and preserving the rich cultural heritage. He urged the youth to avoid actions that could jeopardize peace and stability, and encouraged chiefs, elders, and opinion leaders to resolve their differences amicably. The Denkyirahene appealed to the people to respect traditional authority and support initiatives for education, healthcare, sanitation, agriculture, and other sectors.

He stressed the need to protect the cultural identity and traditions of Denkyira, passing them on to future generations. The event brought together chiefs, queenmothers, religious leaders, political representatives, security personnel, and the public, with the celebration concluding in renewed calls for unity, peaceful coexistence, and collective efforts towards the area's development.
