Ceva Logistics sued over theft of employee records during data breach

According to prosecutors, a former Ceva Logistics employee has filed a class action lawsuit against the logistics giant. The lawsuit alleges that Ceva failed to protect sensitive personal information during a recent cyberattack that occurred in late July. The hackers gained access to Ceva's systems and data, disrupting operations at eight warehouses that provide store replenishment and e-commerce fulfillment for retailers in Europe.

Kevin Krupa, the former employee, claims that his personal information, including bank account details and social security numbers, was stolen in the attack. Krupa asserts that Ceva's negligence in failing to adequately train employees on cybersecurity and maintain reasonable security safeguards allowed the breach to occur. The lawsuit also claims that Ceva did not notify employees about the breach, preventing them from taking steps to mitigate potential fraud.

Krupa seeks at least $5 million in compensation and damages, alleging that at least 100 employees have been harmed, with the number potentially extending into the thousands.
