Ceuta se echa a la calle para exigir soluciones a la crisis migratoria

Ceuta saw its streets fill with demonstrators on Wednesday, demanding solutions to a crisis stemming from a surge in migration. The city, already under intense pressure for over a month, has seen a series of protests and claims throughout the week. However, the rally on September 2, the city's own day, was the most significant attempt to highlight the discontent of a 83,000-strong population still grappling with the aftermath of over 70,000 migrants arriving on July 30 and 31, and the prolonged presence of thousands of migrants in its beaches, parks, and streets.

Around 20,000 people gathered for the demonstration, according to government delegation figures, who had been advocating for their own identity and Spanish nationality for at least three hours. Amid criticism of the administration's handling of the situation, the protesters called for the expulsion of the migrants and their defense against Morocco.
