CBSE schools in Himachal Pradesh to introduce three-time attendance system, says CM

In a bid to enhance educational standards in Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced on Tuesday that three-time attendance would be implemented in the 150 CBSE government schools across the state. During a meeting of the Education Department, Sukhu highlighted that attendance would be mandatory at three key points throughout the school day - upon arrival in the morning, during the lunch break, and at the time of checkout.

Sukhu also emphasized that separate dress codes would be prescribed for both teachers and students in these CBSE institutions. The dress code for teachers would come into effect from October 1 of the current year, with the state government providing one-time financial assistance of Rs 5,000 to facilitate the purchase of the prescribed attire. Plans for the school uniform for students are expected to be finalized within the next week.

The Chief Minister clarified that approximately 1,200 teachers had already been appointed in the CBSE schools, with more recruits anticipated in the future. The state government is committed to delivering quality education in these schools, particularly for children residing in rural areas, ensuring they have access to superior educational opportunities close to their homes.

Further improvements in the CBSE schools and the strengthening of facilities for students and teachers received the state government's support, with an additional allocation of Rs 80 crore. Sukhu directed the Education Department to ensure the effective implementation of these measures and continuous enhancement of the functioning and facilities within the CBSE schools.
