Barca sign Jesus

Spanish football giants Barcelona have completed the signing of Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal on a three-year deal, according to reports. The financial terms of the transfer remain undisclosed, though British media sources suggest Barcelona paid around £8.6 million ($11.5 million) for the 29-year-old player. This is Barcelona's sixth signing of the transfer window, following the acquisitions of Anthony Gordon, Karim Adeyemi, Rodri, Joao Cancelo, and goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic.

The move comes as Barcelona's interest in Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez has been speculated, with Atletico reportedly unwilling to sell the Argentine international to their domestic rivals. Jesus departed from Arsenal after four seasons, having joined the London club from Manchester City in 2022. During his tenure at Arsenal, Jesus played 123 matches in all competitions, netting 32 goals, and featured in 27 matches during the team's Premier League title-winning campaign last season.

However, he had found himself on the sidelines due to competition from newer players Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres in the attacking lineup. Prior to joining Arsenal, Jesus enjoyed four Premier League titles with Manchester City, scoring 95 goals in 236 appearances across all competitions. Jesus has amassed over 200 Premier League appearances and scored more than 70 league goals throughout his career.
