Asus puts a petaflop of AI ambition into ProArt laptops

Asus is introducing its ProArt P16 and ProArt P14 laptops at IFA 2026 in Berlin, marking the first ProArt laptops to be powered by Nvidia’s RTX Spark platform. These portable workstations cater to creators and developers who wish to execute AI workloads directly on their PCs. The heart of the new platform lies in its powerful hardware - an Nvidia RTX GPU with 6,144 cores, an Nvidia Grace CPU boasting up to 20 cores, and fifth-generation Tensor Cores with FP4 precision.

This combination enables up to 1 petaflop of AI performance and up to 128GB of unified memory. For creative professionals, this implies a new approach to AI PCs, where demanding AI applications can be run locally rather than continuously being sent to the cloud. This not only sidesteps token-based cloud costs but also ensures sensitive creative assets remain on the machine and enables AI functionality even without an internet connection.

Despite its high-end capabilities, the ProArt P16 is impressively thin at 12.9mm and weighs 1.77kg, making it Asus' thinnest 16-inch laptop. The ProArt P14, while slightly heavier at 1.48kg and measuring 13.9mm, still delivers exceptional portability. Both models are equipped with large batteries - 99Wh and 90Wh respectively - providing ample power for extended creative sessions.

The displays on these laptops are specifically designed for professional creative work, featuring high-end OLED technology from Asus Lumina Pro with Delta E below 1 for superior color accuracy. Peak brightness of 1,600 nits ensures vivid visuals. Asus is complementing the hardware with its own local AI software suite. MuseTree enables image generation using models like FLUX and WAN without relying on cloud tokens.

StoryCube leverages AI for scene recognition, media organization and asset management. ComfyUI showcases agentic workflows, demonstrating potential future scenarios where AI agents could handle generation, editing and asset management seamlessly. The RTX Spark-powered ProArt P16 and P14 thus embody Asus' vision of making local AI genuinely beneficial for creators, rather than just adding an AI label to another laptop. Pricing and regional availability details have not been disclosed by Asus at this time.
