Armin van Buuren and Laidback Luke Partner With ‘Responsible’ AI Music Company Moises

Dance music artists Armin van Buuren and Laidback Luke have become the inaugural members of Moises' Artist Partnerships program. The influential duo will collaborate on developing Moises' new producer and DJ-focused tools, as well as provide valuable feedback on the future of music technology. This partnership comes six months after the appointment of Charlie Puth as Moises' Chief Music Officer.

Moises is an AI music platform that exclusively trains its models on licensed and authorized music. The platform offers a wide range of tools for creatives, such as stem separation and isolation, mastering, chord identification, and partnerships with various music companies, including Fender and Ableton. Other notable collaborators include Whitney Houston's estate, Blackstar Amps, and Cory Henry.

Geraldo Ramos, founder and CEO of Moises, believes that beginning with dance producers as partners is an apt match, as electronic music has always advanced due to artists' willingness to experiment with new technology. Van Buuren concurs, stating that technology has always been integral to the evolution of electronic music. He emphasizes the importance of maintaining the artist's control over their sound and decision-making, which is where Moises comes in.

Laidback Luke echoes this sentiment, noting that the best AI tools for producers do not perform the work for them, but rather help them hear more, learn faster, and make stronger creative decisions. "The next generation of creative tools has to be built with musicians, not around them," Ramos adds. Both artists understand the craft, community, and responsibility involved in building tools that musicians will actually use.
