An 8-year-old DSLR is fighting with pro mirrorless, a new bridge camera, and a cheap compact in the strangest mix of camera trends yet

When the top trending cameras in the US were recently revealed by B&H, it felt like nothing anyone could have predicted. Among the list were cameras ranging from a brand-new bridge camera to an eight-year-old DSLR, making for quite the mix. The Sony RX10 V, which is a bridge camera with an impressive 25x zoom lens, topped the list for the second consecutive month. The RX10 V combines a one-inch sensor with a powerful zoom, making it a versatile all-in-one option.

Following the RX10 V, the Godox C100 stood out as the "weirdest camera ever." This camera is only 2MP but boasts a 50% screen and can also function as a light meter. Its slim design and low price of $45/$39 have made it quite popular, even appearing on the trends list in July. The C100's unconventional design has clearly struck a chord with users.

While high-end mirrorless cameras do make an appearance on the list, the Canon EOS R6 Mark III takes the spotlight. Released late in 2025, the R6 Mark III is praised for its ability to produce high-quality images with a 32.5MP sensor and 7K video recording at 60fps. The camera has earned the title of "new yardstick" in the hybrid camera market.

However, the most unexpected entry on the list is the Canon EOS Rebel T7, an aging DSLR that has managed to break into the trends for its affordability. At just $500 with a kit lens, the T7 remains a budget-friendly option in the market. Interestingly, Canon offers similar-priced mirrorless alternatives, such as the EOS R100, which offers a 24.1MP sensor and advanced autofocus but in a smaller, lighter body.

Other notable cameras on the trend list include the Sony A7 V, a Sony full-frame mirrorless camera that continues to be popular in the US. The A7 V offers 33MP resolution, 30fps video capabilities, and enhanced subject recognition autofocus. Compact cameras like the Fujifilm X100VI, with its compact retro design and 40.2MP sensor, and Canon's pocket-sized PowerShot SX740 HS are also making waves in the market.

The Leica D-Lux 8, a luxury compact camera, and the Sony RX100 VII, a smaller version of the RX10 V, are also featured on the list, highlighting the diverse range of camera options available to consumers.
