Aeron Systems Raises ₹45 Cr To Scale Navigation, Weather-Monitoring Systems

Pune-based deeptech firm Aeron Systems has secured ₹45 Cr in pre-Series B funding from Riverwalk Holdings and MGF-Kavachh (MountTech Growth Fund) to bolster its manufacturing capabilities and global presence. The company focuses on designing and manufacturing advanced inertial navigation and industrial IoT-based weather-monitoring systems for various industries, including aerospace, defence, renewable energy, and defense electronics.

Founded in 2008 by Ashvani Shukla and Abhijeet Bokil, Aeron Systems' navigation systems assist aircraft, drones, missiles, military vehicles, and ships in determining their position and movement, even when satellite signals are unavailable. Its weather-monitoring systems gather environmental data for industries like renewable energy and agriculture.

With over 10,000 inertial systems and 2,500 weather stations deployed globally, the company intends to use the funds to enhance production capacity, expedite R&D, satisfy rising customer demand, and strengthen its international market position. The funding follows a broader trend of investments in aerospace and defence technologies capable of operating in complex and contested environments, driven by increased demand for reliable navigation and sensing solutions amidst electronic warfare and satellite navigation disruptions.

India's deeptech market is projected to grow to $27 Bn to $33 Bn by 2030, according to Redseer Strategy Consultants.
