A1 side Kelantan City play with distinction

In the first leg of the FA Cup Round of 16, Kelantan City made a surprising upset by defeating Super League team Negri Sembilan 2-0 at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium in Kota Baru. The visitors scored the first goal in the eighth minute, with defender Ahmad Nazri Mohamad putting them ahead. Nigerian forward Emmanuel Uzochukwu sealed the win for Kelantan in the 84th minute.

Meanwhile, Kedah FA faced another Super League team, Star City FC, at the Darul Aman Stadium. Kedah took the lead in the 42nd minute through a penalty from Ghanaian midfielder Anthony Arthur, but Star City FC equalized just eight minutes later with goals from Douglas Oliveira and Pedro Henrique. Kedah fought back with a late goal from Zhafir Yusoff, but the tie was left open for the second leg on September 9.

In another match, Penang edged Melaka 1-0 at the Hang Jebat Stadium, with Nigerian defender Faith Obilor scoring the only goal in the 23rd minute. This victory came after Penang's recent winless run in the Super League. In the final first-leg match, Sabah and Selangor played to a 2-2 draw at the Likas Stadium. Dane Ingham gave the Rhinos the lead in the 33rd minute, but Dutch striker Kay Tejan equalized for Selangor just two minutes later.

Selangor took the lead in the 50th minute, but Sabah equalized again in the 58th minute. The Red Giants were reduced to 10 men after defender Safuwan Baharudin received a second yellow card in the 78th minute, but they failed to capitalize on the numerical advantage.
