‘노란 학원차’ 2만5천대 시대…현대차, 아동 안심 승하차·위치 공유 솔루션 개발

As of now, there are 30,091 school buses in operation across the country. Out of these, 8,124 are specifically for kindergartens, while 1,7344 are used for school buses. The school safety system provides basic information about school buses, as well as details on operators and co-passengers, insurance coverage, and more. While parents are concerned about their child's safety, it is an inevitable worry.

In response to this issue, Korean automobile manufacturer Hyundai has collaborated with KT, kindergarten operation solution provider Kizoto, and specialized electric vehicle company MTR to develop an "Infant School Bus Safety Solution." Hyundai, KT, Kizoto, and MTR signed a business agreement to work together on developing and implementing a new infant school bus safety model.

The new safety features for the school bus will include child residue detection, real-time location sharing, automatic pickup and drop-off confirmation, and automatic operation logs. In addition, Hyundai plans to conduct a pilot operation to enhance child safety and operational convenience. Hyundai will utilize vehicle data such as speed, ignition, and GPS to develop the safety features for the infant school bus.

MTR will be responsible for introducing various safety devices such as child exit detection devices and child-specific car seats to the Staria EV-based kindergarten bus. Kizoto will handle the connection between the vehicle and the safety service through communication infrastructure, allowing for more accurate tracking of child locations and movements.

Lastly, Kizoto will operate an application that provides real-time information about children's school-related activities to parents and teachers. Hyundai's domestic sales manager, Eom Jae-seop, stated, "Hyundai's multi-purpose vehicles are more than just a means of transportation; they are the core that connects customers' daily lives and services.

Through this collaboration, we aim to create a safe transportation environment for children and their parents, providing real value to customers and establishing ourselves as a solutions provider."
