ODM leader Oburu Oginga has clarified his current location, revealing that he is back home in Nairobi after a brief hospital visit. This comes after a string of rumors circulated on social media regarding his whereabouts, with some claiming he was admitted to a hospital in Nairobi and others suggesting a possible trip to the United Kingdom for further treatment.

However, Oburu dismissed these rumors in a statement made on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. He confirmed that he was discharged from the hospital on Monday, August 31, 2026, and is now recovering at his home in Kitusuru, Nairobi. The veteran politician dismissed claims that he had been readmitted, questioning the source of such information.

Oburu assured Kenyans that he was doing well and that his hospital visit involved a general check-up with his doctors. He also urged the public not to be alarmed by health-related reports, stating that being sick is a normal human experience and that he would inform them if his health deteriorated. Oburu is currently hosting friends at his residence in Nairobi, with the ODM Communications Director, Philip Etale, confirming his location and expressing optimism about his recovery.

Images shared on Tuesday showed Oburu at home, reading a newspaper in his sitting room alongside a friend. This is the first clear account of Oburu's whereabouts since he disappeared from the public eye earlier this month.
