U Mobile Launches ULTRA Home 5G Pro With Up To 2Gbps Speeds, 2TB Monthly Quota

U Mobile has introduced its latest 5G home broadband service, the ULTRA Home 5G Pro, in Malaysia. This new offering boasts impressive speeds of up to 2Gbps, alongside 8×8 MIMO 5G-Advanced (5G-A) technology, AI-Powered Game Turbo, and an ULTRA Performance WiFi 7 5G-A router. The service targets households with numerous devices and gamers seeking faster, more responsive connections without the need for fixed fiber installations.

U Mobile asserts that the service can provide double the speed of existing 5G home broadband alternatives that employ 4×4 MIMO technology. By utilizing 8×8 MIMO 5G-A broadband, the included router can receive multiple data streams simultaneously from U Mobile's ULTRA5G network, resulting in improved data speeds. Compared to conventional 4×4 MIMO configurations, the 8×8 MIMO technology can deliver between 20% and 100% speed gains, while also providing greater capacity when multiple devices are connected.

The ULTRA Home 5G Pro comes with an ULTRA Performance WiFi 7 5G-A Router, designed to leverage the service's 8×8 MIMO 5G-A connectivity and support WiFi 7 Multi-Link Operation (MLO). This feature enables compatible devices to maintain multiple WiFi connections simultaneously, potentially delivering high-speed connectivity across larger areas.

Alongside the service launch, U Mobile is also unveiling its AI-Powered Game Turbo feature. This real-time optimization feature aims to improve online gaming responsiveness for PC, console, and mobile games. However, the company did not provide specific details on the feature's inner workings. The ULTRA Home 5G Pro is currently available in West Malaysia for RM98 per month, excluding taxes.
