Trevor Story hits a bases-loaded RBI single in 10th to lift Red Sox to 9-8 win over Mariners

Boston Red Sox secured a 9-8 comeback victory over the Seattle Mariners on Monday night, thanks to Trevor Story's bases-loaded RBI single in the 10th inning. Jarren Duran and Mickey Gasper contributed with a two-run homer and a solo shot, respectively. Randy Arozarena had a stellar performance for the Mariners, hitting four times, including a home run over the Green Monster, driving in four runs, and scoring three times.

Aroldis Chapman worked a scoreless 10th inning. The Red Sox, who had dropped three of four games to the Yankees, were coming off a challenging weekend. In the ninth inning, Roman Anthony's triple was nullified when Julio Rodríguez made an error, allowing Arozarena to score. Trailing 5-3 in the sixth, Arozarena's two-run single tied the game, and Dominic Canzone's two-run double gave the Mariners the lead.

Boston starter Payton Tolle gave up four runs in 5 2/3 innings. Mariners pitcher Bryan Woo is set to face the Red Sox in the middle game of the three-game series on Tuesday.
