To counter protest against J&K government, Omar Abdullah’s party has a plan – gherao BJP offices

The National Conference party in Jammu and Kashmir has announced a plan to gherao BJP offices in Srinagar and Jammu in response to the party's own announcement of a "Secretariat Gherao" on Wednesday. This move is aimed at pressuring the Union government to address concerns regarding recruitment and employment. The National Conference insists that the mandate of the people of J&K is not a "blank cheque" and must be respected.

Their demands include constitutional guarantees, restoration of statehood, clearance of reservation file, and justice for the people of J&K. The BJP has responded by planning a massive protest march against the J&K National Conference Government on September 2, 2026, with party leaders and workers assembling at Clock Tower, Lal Chowk, Srinagar and marching towards the Civil Secretariat.
