Thunderstorms, hail and strong winds expected across several Saudi regions Tuesday

The National Center for Meteorology predicts a series of severe weather events to impact several regions in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. These include heavy thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds in Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and Makkah. The meteorological authority warns that these storms could lead to flash flooding in certain areas. In contrast, parts of Najran are expected to receive lighter to moderate rainfall.

The forecast also predicts the emergence of strong winds capable of stirring up dust and sand in these regions. Additionally, strong winds will affect parts of the Eastern Province and Madinah. Surface winds in the Red Sea are expected to blow from the northwesterly to westerly direction at speeds ranging from 10 to 38 km/h. This will generate waves with heights between half a meter and one and a half meters, resulting in slight to moderate sea conditions.

Over in the Arabian Gulf, surface winds are forecasted to come from the northwesterly to northerly direction, at speeds between 20 and 45 km/h. This will produce waves ranging from one to two meters in height, with moderate sea conditions.
