Suspek, mangsa tikaman maut dalam insiden di Times Square

Two victims and a suspect died in an incident at Times Square, New York City, according to New York Police Department (NYPD). The victim who was filming and a suspect both died, while a third victim remained hospitalized and in stable condition, according to authorities on Monday, as reported by Anadolu Agency. NYPD identified the suspect as Pamela Cisneros, 49, from Queens, who later shot herself after confronting two individuals on West 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue.

Initially, police reported that the woman was experiencing emotional distress and threatening people with two knives, according to ABC News. Police said the woman attacked two individuals, one man and one woman, before officers arrived at the scene. The suspect then fled north to a police station before confronting officers. NYPD spokeswoman Jessica Tisch said officers attempted to communicate with Cisneros for nearly four minutes and repeatedly urged her to drop the knife, but the woman refused.

Tisch said Cisneros then waved the knife and charged at officers. Several officers used Taser guns, which were ineffective, before two officers fired and subdued Cisneros. According to Tisch, the shooting was captured by officers' body cameras. Cisneros was taken to Bellevue Hospital before being declared dead. NYPD Commissioner Zohran Mamdani said the victim and suspect were taken to Bellevue Hospital, with one victim in stable condition.

"With a heavy heart, I report that one victim has died, and the suspect has also passed away," he said. He added that an internal investigation would be conducted in accordance with standard procedure, while body camera footage would be made public.
