Sixers invite former NBA center Tacko Fall, guard Jameer Nelson Jr. to training camp

The Philadelphia 76ers have extended an invitation to former NBA center Tacko Fall and his son, guard Jameer Nelson Jr., to join them at training camp. Fall, who stands at 7-feet-6, last played in the NBA with the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2021-22 season. For the past four years, Fall has been playing overseas, averaging 11.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks in 18.1 minutes, primarily in China and New Zealand. He previously played for the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers from 2020 to 2022.

The Sixers, who recently signed LeBron James and acquired Jaylen Brown, have limited experience at the center position. Alongside Joel Embiid, the roster includes Adem Bona and Ariel Hukporti.

Jameer Nelson Jr., son of former NBA guard and Saint Joseph's standout Jameer Nelson, enjoyed a successful season last year with the G League's Stockton Kings. He averaged 18.9 points and shot 47% from beyond the arc. Additionally, forward Saint Thomas has been granted an invitation to the Sixers' training camp, where he averaged 12.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in the G League for Philadelphia's affiliate last season.
