Renato Sanches set to terminate his contract at PSG

Renato Sanches, the 29-year-old Portuguese midfielder, is set to terminate his contract with Paris Saint-Germain. According to Record Portugal, Sanches' departure from the club marks the end of a challenging four-year tenure marked by inconsistency and injury troubles. Sanches joined PSG from Lille in 2022, hoping to elevate his career following impressive performances with the northern French club.

However, his time at PSG was repeatedly hampered by fitness issues. Over the past four years, Sanches has suffered 21 injuries, resulting in nearly 550 days absent from the pitch. In addition to his struggles with injuries, Sanches also endured loan spells with Roma, Benfica, and Panathinaikos, all of which did not yield the desired results.

Prior to his time at PSG, Sanches had shown great promise, winning the Golden Boy award at 19 and being part of Portugal's squad that won the European Championship in 2016. After a disappointing stint at Bayern Munich, Sanches found success at Lille, helping the team secure the Ligue 1 title in 2021. At the age of 29, Sanches now finds himself without a club and must seek a new opportunity as a free agent, hoping to revive a career that once seemed destined for greatness.
