Private equity group rolls up 3 small firms for courier network

Private equity firm Trident Management has acquired three small courier businesses, expanding its network across the Midwest and South. Priority Courier Experts, which serves B2B customers in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area and upper Midwest, recently purchased Priority Dispatch Inc., Diamond Expedited, and Inpax Shipping Solutions.

Priority Dispatch was founded in Cincinnati in 1973, while Diamond Expedited began in Chicago in 1995. The companies cover numerous Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and surrounding states, with a combined delivery traffic of about 250,000 orders per year. Inpax Shipping Solutions operates in seven South markets and delivers over 400,000 orders annually.

The combined delivery volume of these acquisitions totals more than 1 million pieces, equivalent to FedEx's daily throughput in approximately 90 minutes. These acquisitions grant Priority Courier Experts stronger regional coverage and access to more resources for growth. Trident Management, which specializes in acquiring small U.S. businesses in healthcare, consumer, and industrial sectors, expressed interest in Inpax's commercial and parcel strength as it broadens the platform's offerings.
