Police unveil app for Nigerians to report fraud cases

The Nigeria Police Force has launched a new digital platform, the Nigeria Police Force Vigilant App, to help Nigerians report suspected financial fraud and track the status of their cases. The app, launched by Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu, was introduced alongside the NPF–MTN Closed User Group Network, which enhances communication among police officers nationwide.

The Vigilant App, developed by the Force ICT Department in partnership with financial services sector stakeholders, allows citizens to report suspected fraud, submit evidence, monitor case progress and receive feedback. The official launch was attended by representatives from various government agencies, banks, fintech companies, and technology firms.

Disu stated that the app is part of the Force's digital transformation efforts and aims to improve public engagement and communication within the police force.
