'Please hold on': Wife's plea for missing firefighter in Nepal

Assalamualaikum, my husband. Where are you? Please hold on. Our family misses you so much, began a desperate plea from a woman identified as @azielashaharuddin on social media. Her husband, Mohd Sani Harul, a senior Fire and Rescue Department officer, is missing after the catastrophic floods in Nepal last Wednesday. A photo of the couple in front of the Kaaba in Makkah accompanied her message, expressing the family's hope, longing, and fear.

They are still waiting for any news regarding Sani's whereabouts or condition. Mohd Sani and Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department colleague Mohd Fakhrul Munir Mohd Isa are among the 56 Malaysians unaccounted for in Nepal's Rasuwa district. Initially scheduled for a trekking expedition to Everest Base Camp on August 22, their trip was postponed due to scheduling conflicts.

The Fire and Rescue Department director-general, Datuk Seri Hisham Mohamad, confirmed that Sani, deputy director of the Planning and Research Division, was part of the missing team. @azielashaharuddin's post concluded with a plea for her husband's safe return, urging him to hold on and return to his family. She prayed that he would face his ordeal with strength, patience, and hope, knowing that his loved ones are anxiously awaiting his safe return to Malaysia.
