People went to beg the president – Martin Kpebu on delays with petition against Special Prosecutor

Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has revealed that his petition against Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng has been delayed due to a political settlement. The petition was presented to the Chief Justice but has not been decided upon yet. Kpebu clarified that his petition is distinct from those dismissed by the Chief Justice for lacking a prima facie case.

He asserted that his petition is robust and compelling, with no ground for its dismissal. The delay in processing his petition is attributed to a political arrangement, which Kpebu described as a "political settlement." Despite the setback, Kpebu remained resolute, stating he was willing to accept the current state of affairs. He suggested that if the Special Prosecutor acknowledged his conduct, the matter could be resolved.

However, Kpebu warned against any attempt to dismiss his petition, threatening to publish its contents if it were thrown out. He also noted that he had the right to publish the petition's content prior to any official decision.
